On Thursday the 3rd of March we celebrated World Book Day. Everyone brought in their favourite book to share with their classmates.
The whole school also engaged in Buddy reading for the first time. This is where a pupil from the senior room is paired up with a pupil from the junior room. Pupils then get a chance to read to each other. We will continue the Buddy reading throughout the year because everyone loved it !
To end our successful World Book day we announced the winners of the recent colouring competition with Roscommon Library. The 1st place prize went to Áine Finnegan who won a €20 book voucher. 2nd place went to Meghan Murphy who won a pack of twistables. 3rd place went to Eva Finnegan who also won a pack of twistables. Congratulations to all the winners and all the pupils who entered the competition.
Every pupil also got a book token which can be used to receive a FREE World Book Day book.
